I built this for only $10 | Master Closet Renovation EP09
Просмотров 9283 месяца назад
We needed a spot to sit and put our shoes on in the new closet, so this is what I came up with. The rest of the Master Closet Renovation has been very modern looking, so we went with a rustic style on this piece of furniture. This rustic farmhouse bench will be a great spot to put our shoes on. And I made it for only $10!

My neighbor has a ton of chickens and sells eggs by her house. She has had this hand-written sign up this whole year, and I thought it was time she had something a bit more permanent and sturdy. I made her a couple of signs to help get her more business as people drive by. Great tutorial!
Love it! I need to go through some of my scrap pieces and clear out the shop while making some gifts!
You have your process down! So many great ideas and tips, thanks for sharing Bruce!
Beautiful work, Bruce! Really amazing cutting boards! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Cutting boards are always a lot of fun to make. Great work and the process is pretty straight forward.
Thanks for sharing your process Bruce! How thick do you usually make your boards? Would you say charcuterie boards made in a similar way should be just as thick?
i think more videos like this will really increase your subscriber count!
You ran it backwards. Should have started at window then out to door…
If I ended up with a partial piece (which I did), I didn’t want that to be seen immediately as you entered. I would much rather it be near the window on the far wall where it won’t be seen.
A light gauge spring ---(to prevent the nut breaking out of the epoxy !)
Nice machines ----BUT WHERE IS THE SPRING TO KEEP TENSION ON THE JAWS WHEN OPENING &CLOSING?
Genius..I am going to attempt to copy you but with inferior equipment, ha.
Nice! Well, I didn't have that nice of stuff in this video...just a basic table saw and nail guns. It's very easy!
Hi Bruce, Lots of info there thanks. You were going to provide a link, (I don't seem to be able to find)... the metal bottle cap opener inserts link.
How thin a leather can you get away with on the Glow Forge?
It can engrave standard copy paper without cutting through it, so I’d say pretty thin.
I need to cut about 1/4 off so that it fits flush against the wall. How do I prevent the staves, and basically the entire barrel from falling apart?
That's why I drilled through the hoops at 1:23 to stabilize the barrel.
@@BruceAUlrich A screw in each individual stave isn't necessary to prevent it from each of them falling off separately?
@leigh-jo you basically have to put a screw through the hoop into each stave. When these have liquid in them, they swell and are tight. After they’re empty, they shrink and start to fall apart.
Just use a bigger spiral upcut to hog out the rest.
😍❤️✨️
Great video! I was gifted a very similar prop from a colleague at work (Boeing). Been trying to get an idea on how to mount it and your video helps a ton! Thank you. Also, any chance you'd be willing to create that same piece and sell it to me? Thanks!
Thanks for watching...glad you enjoyed it! Shoot me an email (I think it is linked to my account) and we can chat about me making you one. Thanks!
Great use of cardboard. However, I still don't want a cat. Dogs rule! 😁
Ha ha. I didn’t convince you, huh?
Thanks for the video. Exactly what I was looking for!
Glad you found it helpful!
No GOOD?
It is a good budget-friendly machine to sharpen stuff.
Of course cats never do what you want them to do. Love them but wow they have strong personalities. 😂. Great idea for recycling
They are unique in that way. Ha ha
This is a great use of a material we're always trying to figure out what to do with. Nice work, Bruce!
Thank you! I love using scraps for something useful
So fun! Haha I love how even when they finally did use it they stopped as soon as they caught you filming them!
Of course! Little turds
Fantastic work, Bruce! Nicely done! 😃 What I've seen before was a guy making a heavy (ish) wooden box to put the cardboard inside. This way you don't even need to glue them. 😉 Anyway, stay safe there with your family! And cats!!! 🖖😊
That’s a good idea… And it would help keep it in place too
I expected it to have lasers for the cat to play with 😊
Did you ever see one of those things for parties, with a bunch of lasers? Someday I'm going to buy one. 😬 I have 5 cats here. 😁
LOL. We have that also.
This was actually one of the first things I thought of when considering buying a laser. lol
Ha ha. Really? I think you could sell some at a craft show for sure. And it uses up scrap cardboard
Looks great, but how come you didn't leave a gap between the closets for floating?
I did leave a gap, it's just a small one in some places. That's why I needed the shoe molding around to cover it.
2x2 in the 20" planer..... really?
Why not? It’s meant for planing anything.
Do they have any ankle pads?
Not that I know of
I mean.... It's a look some might want! 😅
6:24 what belt is on the oscillating sander? Any specific reason why you chose that belt?
It was a 120grit belt. I wanted to remove material but also have a nice finish.
@@BruceAUlrich thanks
Interested to know how you managing the swing movement since it’s not connected with the floor at the bottom and it’s free hanging?
I guess I didn’t show it well enough, but I have a groove in the bottom of the door and a small piece attached to the floor that rides in the groove. That keeps it from swinging out.
Thank you for the swift response, I watched twice but could not understand that specific part. I recently installed two doors in two different locations but really suffering with the bottom as it’s coming off the wall. We don’t have any accessories available locally while I don’t want to use the aluminum channels at the bottom. If there is any specific video on it, please share the link. Many thanks for the great work.
Thats an awesome little bench there Bruce. I bet you and your daughter had fun destressing it 😂 love the geometry of it too
Thanks so much! It fits great in the closet. Yep! It was fun distressing it together.
You have been very blessed. Thanks for sharing
Thank you! These are some great people.
Hello.. im just wondering Does oneida supercell collect dust from air. I do many grinding car panels and my shop is full of dust, but i can't connect to tools. Im looking something that will collect dust from air in my shop.. What you think ?
No, I would not recommend the SuperCell for this. It is meant to collect at the tools. I would buy or build some type of an air cleaner/air scrubber. Jay Bates has a video about how to make one here on RUclips.
thank you for the video, now I know how to and just ordered two templeats from Crafted Elements and bottle opener templets as well
1 way to think of things that aren't worth your time. If you enjoy making it, if it drives traffic, it becomes a calling card, even if you ultimately give it away
You can do a certain amount of that, but I cannot work for free. I ultimately have to find things that sell if that is my goal, and this was my goal in doing this craft show.
You are an accident waiting to happen on the table saw!
I STILL DONT UNDERSTAND
I just used this tool to help me center the light fixture on the faucet.
